MOSCOW, Jun 19 (PRIME) -- A magistrates’ court in Moscow has imposed a 2 million ruble fine on Internet company Yandex for non-provision of the Federal Security Service with information about the Yandex Services users, business daily Kommersant reported on Monday.
It was a second violation, although the first, committed in 2022, went unnoticed.
Yandex’s actions were qualified as “repeated non-fulfillment by the company of obligations to respect the requirements to its equipment and programs for execution of search or provision of the country’s security by the state entities,” the daily said.
The Internet company admitted the breach and asked not to impose the maximum amount, which is set at 6 million rubles.
